Thankful for it all...

Today as I wandered out to the front living room the sun was hitting the coffee table in a way that revealed many many tiny handprints that have left their mark on the glass, and in the dust. My first thoughts were...Oh man I just cleaned that. Then I remembered something that brought joy and sadness to my heart!

I recently heard a full time working Mom say she was so thankful that her daughter was at daycare so her house was never messy and she had a break from her daughter everyday. While I am not one to judge (to each his own) I was kind of taken back, and as much as I would like my house cleaned all the time and all the little smudges off my glass I wouldn't change my life for anything.

I'm thankful for the handprints on the front glass door, tv, and coffee table. I'm thankful for the fifty times I will wipe Gray's nose today, for the spilled milk, crushed goldfish crackers, and the unrolled toilet paper I will find in the bathroom. Thankful I will have 3 hungry mouths to feed when they return from school, and the homework that will have to be helped with. Thankful I have 10 loads of laundry to do because I have 4 beautiful children that dirty clothes. Thankful that I can hear everything that comes out of Grayson's mouth as he explores and imagines in this world around him. Thankful I get to drop the kids off at school and pick them up....

Thankful that I have a husband who thinks its also important for me to be a stay at home mom!!! We may go with out to make it possible but I truly believe we never do.....

So leave the smudges on the glass and the goldfish on the ground. You will never get this time back with your children. Enjoy & cherish every monent of it!

I am shocked by the comment and I am a full time working. I can never get home fast enough to spend time with my family and am lucky thatI can occasionally bring my kids to work with me. They are my life!

I am glad you enjoy and get to "work from home" and cherish it!

I love this post. Such a great perspective. Being a mom is the best, isn't it?

So glad to find you thru FF! Newly following you!

Speaking of crushed Goldfish crackers - I post Fishful Thinking Thursdays on my blog about activities I do with my kids from www.fishfulthinking.com. I bet you'd love the site!

Great post! There are times when I lose patience and then remember how fast these times go by. Our children grow and change so fast.

Appreciating the tiny handprints - that philosophy helps when I get frustrated with my husband also. I remember a widow saying that as much as it annoyed her when her husband "parked himself" on the couch, she'd do anything now, to have him back on that couch.

Thanks for the reminder.

I'm stopping by from Friday Follow (I am NEVER punctual, hehehe)
I hope you'll follow me back -
