A New Soup Recipe!!!

Spicy Cheeseburger Soup
Ingredients

* 1 -1/2 c. water
* 2 cups cubed peeled potatoes
* 2 small carrots grated
* 1 small onion chopped
* 1/4 chopped green pepper
* 1 jalapeno chopped and seeded
* 1 garlic clove pressed
* 1 Tbs beef bouillion granules
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1 lb. hamburger cooked and drained
* 2- 1/2 c. milk divided
* 3 Tbs. flour
* 8 oz. velveta
* 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
* 8 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled

Directions:
In a large sauce pan bring the first 9 ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15-20 min or until potatoes are tender. Stir in beef and 2 cups of milk heat through. Combine flour and remaining milk until smooth, gradually stir in. Bring to a boil: cook and stir for 2 min. or until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat. stir in cheese until melted. Add cayenne if using. Top with bacon and serve.

Grayson: Mom I was in your tummy a long time before I popped out of it.....

Me: Yes you were....Do you remember being in my tummy?

Grayson: Yes it was messy...I miss it....

The Morning Dilemma

So each morning we go through the same thing...the same routine....the same agonizing decision. What show to watch? Will it be one on Disney? Nick Jr.? Noggin? Is it a Handy Manny Day, or a Wow Wow Wubzy Day, or a Dora day? This is a very hard decision for Gray to make. I have to turn the tv on go to the guide and tell him exactly what is on at the moment and then the 5 min process of deciding begins. This morning it was Little Bear! Wow Little Bear chosen over Dora doesn't happen very often. After we watch a few shows the tv goes off and we read books, play starwars, play Max & Ruby, or memory! (I dont like playing Memory because he always beats me and I don't even let him win he just does!) Then at 3 & 3:30 we have to turn Noggin on because his FAVORITE show is on OLIVIA!!!! What would we do if we couldn't watch it!!!

The Sweet Innocence of a Child....

I love the age of Gray.... 3 year olds are PRECIOUS!!!! Although he can be quite a pistol I love how at this age they are learning and discovering new things daily. As things become clear to him and he figures this world around him out he has said some of the greatest things....

Just this morning he said, "Mommy when I grow up I want to marry you and be in a marching band." Oh if I could only keep him that innocent, and sweet! He prays at every meal and at bedtime and his prayers are so authentic, innocent, precious, beautiful! They go something like this......

Jesus Thank you for this world, and for my mommy, and daddy, and Noah, and Alivia, and Alexa, and my grandpa who has a dog named Sam, and my other grandpa who hunts, and my grandma Becky, and my Aunt Fifi, and for our food, and for Dora, and for Boots, and for everything. (Mom should I say anything else....Whatever you want to say Grayson) Okay giggle....giggle....The End Amen!

I love his Prayer time!

Yesterday we were in ShopKo and Noah was picking out some Valentines for his class and was telling Gray about V-Day!

Noah: Gray Valentines Day is when you give people you love and like chocolate or cards to show them you care about them. Like my friends at school I just like them not love them so I am gonna give them a card with a laffy taffy taped on it. But Mommy I love her so I'm gonna ask Daddy to help me buy her chocolate because she likes that. (Oh yes Mommy does)

Gray : Okay well I'm going to get this Sponge Bob heart for Joselyn because she is my best friend and I love her.

Noah: Gray you can't love her unless you marry her when you are big like Daddy.

Gray: I can love her because she is my friend.

Me: Gray you can get it but lets get her a princess heart not Sponge Bob.

Gray: Joselyn and I love Sponge Bob. (Gray does not get to watch it...so who knows)

Noah: Hey Mom look at these handcuffs they are called LOVE CUFFS...Maybe you should get them for Daddy for V-Day.

Me: Okay boys we are done looking at V-Day things. (Ran as fast out of the aisle as possible)

I love the things and conversations I am blessed to have with my children! Good or bad! I love that I get to be apart of so many teachable moments with my kids! I love the innocent things they say, I love the questions , remarks, comments, etc! I have friends who are always telling me to write the funny things down that they say and I think I will make that a priority so I can remember them all and can one day tell them about how funny and cute they were!!!! Give your kiddos an extra squeeze today and remember how blessed you are to have them in your life!

We had the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!!!! Snowed in from Christmas Eve until Sunday with my parents and my sister at our house. We played many hours of Rockband, Clue, Pitch, Movies, Eating, Laughing, Sleeping, Scooping Snow!!!! SO MUCH FUN!

Then we spent this week all having STREP THROAT : ( So after many copay's at Dr. & Walgreens we are all feeling better and are excited to celebrate our BIG family Christmas tomorrow night at Grandma & Grandpa's.
