Almost A Year...

Wow....It's been almost a year since I have blogged. My husband said to me the other day, "Babe I miss reading your blogs...You always seemed to enjoy doing it." So here it goes I will begin again. Not for anyone but for "ME"....
It feels good to record fun things or thoughts about our life. My children are growing up so quickly right before my eyes, I take in everything they do and say but yet i fear I will forget it all just as fast... Blogging is like journaling keep record of it all, so I may look back to remember and forever cherish the unforgetable, the hard, the sweet, the funny and the best times of their lives.

The Laundry Chair???

Okay, so I don't know about you other Mom's out there but I despise laundry. In fact the "L" word is a bad word here in the Fisher house. The rule is if your dirty laundry is not in the laundry room it does not get washed. However when it does get put in the right place and it does get washed it has a hard time making it to everyones rooms. You see I am usually in a hurry when I switch loads and everything that gets pulled from the dryer gets placed in our front sitting room onto a chair. Thus we have a "Laundry Chair" .... Some weeks it may sit there until Fridays when I clean house and put away all the laundry. On a typical Wednesday morning you may hear me say did you check the "Laundry Chair". If you are a surprise visitor at my front door I will scoop it onto the floor if you want to sit in that particular chair or you may just have to look at it from the couch while we drink our coffee. If I would only put it away right when I take it out, I would not have wrinkles to iron out or socks to match at the last minute. Someday I may have a handle on the laundry but for now I have 4 kids and a husband so I will continue to do my best!!!

The Easter Bunny.....

This morning as we were heading out the door we noticed a bunny had just become FRESH ROADKILL right in front of our house.

Kevin: Oh man I hope that wasn't the Easter Bunny.

Grayson: Oh I hope it wasn't either.

Noah: Gray the Easter Bunny is not real, its just Mom & Dad.

Grayson: No it is not! The Easter Bunny is coming to bring me some candy.

Noah: Gray Mom & Dad put candy in your basket....Duh!

Me: Noah who told you that the Easter Bunny isn't real?

Noah: Mom I am 7 now I know these things.

Me: OK then you can believe what you want but don't ruin it for your brother he is only 3.

I can't believe he doesn't believe anymore : ( The twins were at least 9 when they figured it all out and I thought I had a couple more years before the boys figured it all out. Noah still believes in the Tooth Fairy and Santa...I can't quite figure out why he believes in them and not the Bunny. We teach our kids the real reason of the holidays and would never lie to them if they asked if the make believe things were real. I guess I am sad about it because my babies are growing up so fast.....
So here's hoping that the Easter Bunny is not the bunny that is smeared all over my street!!!!

Happy Easter to everyone and may we all REJOICE that he has Risen!!!!

today begins spring break at our house....and its Monday so its that time in the week to admit...confess...say what you did NOT do. You can head to http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to see where this little weekly activity started!
Let me start by saying I love my husband and when we got into a tiff this weekend I DID NOT throw his sweater across the room out of complete and total anger. I DID NOT lay in my bed and watch 3 Lifetime movies until 2 am. I DID NOT sit in church wallowing in self pity and pride on Sunday. And as far as food goes...I did NOT eat chinese food 3 times this weekend. I think it might be time to hit it hard in the gym this week.

Struggling With Weight Removal

I received this today about dieting...I am not on a diet per say but trying very hard to eat healthy and remove about 15lbs that I know are unhealthy to me. It's a hard process for me but over the last 3 mths I have learned not to be so hard on myself because life happens, and there will be times we will eat out and we will have birthday parties that I will want a piece of cake! It's all about making choices for ourselves and living with those choices which may cause us to struggle.

I just read that people make the statement of wanting to lose weight. When we lose something we usually find it again and weight that I lose is not something I want to find again. We should be saying REMOVAL. We want to remove weight and not find it again! So this is to all my friends who are wanting to remove any weight to make themselves healthier.....

1 Peter 3:14But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.

If the example of Jesus teaches us anything, it should be that suffering is a noble and good thing when it leads to a better way. Our diets are definitely the source of suffering, but there is great blessing awaiting all who stick with them. God has promised special blessing to those who keep courage in the face of suffering and don't give in. Losing weight not only makes us look and feel better, but it draws us closer to God and His divine plan for us. Our suffering is not in vain. It is all to the glory of the Lord.
Today's thought: I will fear nothing, as long as Jesus is with me!

Tuesday's Thoughts

foggy and rainy
how I wish the sun would find me
the fresh smell of laundry
a warm cup of coffee in my hand
the sweet sounds of little feet running across the wood floors
the words of Galations 3 trying to make sense in my head
my daughter in her bad ill
oh i wish i had a way to make her feel better
thoughts of what to have for dinner tonight
what chores to get done today
joy of welcoming a new baby to our family
and being an aunt again
final details of a suprise party this weekend
how to be the best mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister
and finding joy and thankfulness in everything
oh the thoughts that consume me today

Out of the mouth of Gray...

Grayson decide to take a blue crayon and color all over the brick on our fireplace...
And this is the conversation that followed....

Me: Grayson this makes mommy very upset you need to get a rag and clean it up right now.

Grayson: okay mommy.

3 hrs later I walk into the family room and see our large (much larger than Gray) kitchen rug laying over the fireplace.

Me: Grayson why is the rug in here?

Grayson: You told me to clean the fireplace with it but I tried mommy and the crayon isn't coming off.

Me: (Laughing) Gray I said a "rag" not a "rug".

Sunday morning walking into church.....

Me: Gray are you excited to go to sunday school?

Grayson: Yes I think I am going to learn lots of things about Sundays!!!!

It's that day of the week again.

"Not ME Monday"

A little fun Monday blogging idea from MckMama at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/

I must say it is so fun to hear from others about the things they "DID NOT DO"

I did not leave the washer full of wet clothes for 3 days. Ooops!
I did not run outside in a Tshirt & my underwear to grab my childs coat that was going to get rained on....No not me!
I also did not...and may I say did not eat almost an entire box of girl scout cookies....
And I most certainly did not take a 4 hour nap yesterday why my family spent a nice Sunday afternoon together!!!!!!!!

Not me MONDAY is something I read on MckMama's blog
and since I have been reading it and others I thought I would try it out for myself.
It is a theraputic freeing way of telling all the things you DID NOT DO!!!
SO HERE IT GOES.......
I "did not" go to bed last night after working out without taking a shower...
I did not put my 3 yr old at the foot of his bed to sleep after he woke up in the middle of the night with wet pants because I forgot to put him in a pull up and I was too tired to change his sheets.....
I did not pull out a tuperware full of egg casserole that could be a science project from being in the fridge for 5 weeks.....
I did not let my 3 yr old eat 2 poptarts at the foot of my bed and watch tv while I slept for an extra hour....No Not ME....

Thankful for it all...

Today as I wandered out to the front living room the sun was hitting the coffee table in a way that revealed many many tiny handprints that have left their mark on the glass, and in the dust. My first thoughts were...Oh man I just cleaned that. Then I remembered something that brought joy and sadness to my heart!

I recently heard a full time working Mom say she was so thankful that her daughter was at daycare so her house was never messy and she had a break from her daughter everyday. While I am not one to judge (to each his own) I was kind of taken back, and as much as I would like my house cleaned all the time and all the little smudges off my glass I wouldn't change my life for anything.

I'm thankful for the handprints on the front glass door, tv, and coffee table. I'm thankful for the fifty times I will wipe Gray's nose today, for the spilled milk, crushed goldfish crackers, and the unrolled toilet paper I will find in the bathroom. Thankful I will have 3 hungry mouths to feed when they return from school, and the homework that will have to be helped with. Thankful I have 10 loads of laundry to do because I have 4 beautiful children that dirty clothes. Thankful that I can hear everything that comes out of Grayson's mouth as he explores and imagines in this world around him. Thankful I get to drop the kids off at school and pick them up....

Thankful that I have a husband who thinks its also important for me to be a stay at home mom!!! We may go with out to make it possible but I truly believe we never do.....

So leave the smudges on the glass and the goldfish on the ground. You will never get this time back with your children. Enjoy & cherish every monent of it!

Celebrating the Little Things...

Me: Gray buddy what are you doing over there? (he is in the corner of my room)

Gray: Picking my boogers....

Me: Oh buddy that's gross why don't you go get a tissue.

Gray: It's okay Mommy I'm throwing them on the ground not eating them....(very proudly spoken)

Me : Oh that's great buddy....(Big Sigh)...Next time lets get a tissue!

I guess I should celebrate with him that he wasn't eating them.....

Shock at the Grocery Store Checkout

So I found my self last week in absolute shock at the grocery store. Let me start by saying that grocery shopping is my least favorite thing to do in this entire world. Just ask my husband. I am not really a list maker although my hubby tells me I should be because it will be easier. I am more of a walk down every aisle and get what we need person.

So I went...Got some fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, whole grains. Everything very healthy!!! No junk...no snacks, even some organic things. Kevin and I are really trying to eat healthy and we don't let our kids snack alot unless its fruit or veggies. (An the occasional pop tart, cookie, fruit snacks, & ice cream!) Anyway so here is where my SHOCK came....

I went through and all of my stuff which didn't even take up an entire cart was $135.00.....

The lady behind me who had 2 carts...2 carts full of Little Debbie Swiss Rolls, Honey Buns, Rice Krispies Bars, Bags of Cheetos, Doritos, Fritos, and every other boxed snack you could think of, and I'm not kidding when I said she had 2 FULL carts. Her total $89.00....

WHAT??????

I was just blown away by her total compared to mine, and how much food compared to mine. She caught me looking and told me she had a daycare and was buying snacks for all her daycare kids. I'm sure my kids would love to go to her daycare!!!

So the moral of this story is that eating healthy does cost more $....Maybe that's part of the reason we have so many overweight people in America. It's cheaper to eat crap!

So I will continue to clip my coupons, check the store ads for sales and keep buying good healthy food to feed my family! But if you ever see me wheeling out 2 carts full of Little Debbie's just know I'm having a really bad week!!!!!

Valentines Day!!!

February 14th....
Valentines Day
A day to show someone how much you love them
Give them gifts
Candy
Flowers
Acts of Kindness
Hug a little tighter
Kiss a little sweeter

Why only on Valentines Day? Shouldn't we be living that way everyday. Shouldn't we be living like every day is our last day! No one knows when their last moment will be on this earth.

I think today even though it is only the 12th I will.....
Love deeper
hug tighter
show others act of kindness
give forgiveness
show grace
and celebrate love today!!!!

1 Cor. 13 : 4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrong. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres. Love never fails........
